Camp Sabros (short for Sacdalan Brothers) is an outdoor adventure camp nestled atop the cool highlands of Kapatagan in Digos City, Davao del Sur. The camp is managed by brothers Edwin and Pando Sacdalan and was launched last December 25, 2007.
The weather on this eco-adventure site can be very cold since it is situated 3,980 feet above sea level and is surrounded by pine trees across its landscape. The camp offers a relaxing view of the surrounding mountains and if you are lucky enough, you can also get the chance to have an amazing panoramic view of the peak of Mount Apo during a clear day.

The zip line ride is the camp’s primary attraction and the main reason why people from different places go to Camp Sabros. The camp is currently noted for having two of Philippines’ longest zip lines with its 380 and 400 meters zip lines situated at 180 feet above the ground.
Last February 2009, I was in Davao City for a 4-day vacation together with my office colleagues and one of our planned activities during our trip was to experience the thrilling adrenaline rush of zip lining at Camp Sabros.
We hired a van from Davao City that would take us to Digos City. Upon reaching the checkpoint area in Kapatagan, Digos City, we rode a motorcycle on our way up to Camp Sabros. Our group arrived at Camp Sabros at around 12 noon. After strolling and taking some pictures around the place, we decided to take the first two rounds of our zip line adventure – the tandem ride on 380 meter zip line which took us 50 seconds and the solo ride on 400 meter zip line which took us almost 30 seconds on the average.
The zip line ride was performed in a lying position as we fly and glide into the air. Helmets were provided and our bodies were safely fastened to the harness which was hooked to a very thick cable wire during the ride. We continued with the other half of our zip line adventure after having our lunch at the deli. The next rides we had were another tandem ride on 380 meter zip line and then finally the cable lift ride which lasted for almost 5 minutes as we enjoyed the scenic view of the lush green wilderness below us.
We left the camp at around 4.30 p.m., trekked back to the checkpoint area and then headed back to Davao City. All of us were tired but were very much delighted of the exciting and thrilling experience we had that we’d want to do it over and over again.
Getting There
From Davao City or General Santos City, hire a private vehicle (a 4-wheel drive vehicle or SUV is recommended) that would take you to Digos City. Travel time will take you about two (2) hours from Davao City. Upon reaching Kapatagan, you may park your vehicles at the base camp of Mt. Apo National Park and Mountaineering/Trekkers Information Center, which is a military checkpoint in Sitio Baras, Kapatagan, Digos City. From there, you may ride a motorcycle (P30/pax) or you may opt to trek uphill for about 20 minutes to get to Camp Sabros.

Wow…parang ang saya niyan.
Is it near the Philippine Eagle Research Center?
Hi Crystal,
T’was really fun.
Pretty nice post. I just came across your site and wanted to say
that I’ve really enjoyed browsing your posts. In any case
I’ll be subscribing to your blog and I hope you post again soon!
Thanks a bunch, Maria.
Sure, we’ll be posting all our travel adventures here. Hope you can drop by our site again. Take care!
@Crystal: Digos is way farther than the Phil. Eagle, which is found in Calinan (just about an hour or so from downtown Davao).
Ay ok, I wasn’t able to go there kse when I went to Davao before to visit my relatives in Mati. My nephews and nieces kse wanted to go to Samal island so ayun dun kme nagpunta. I hope I can visit again soon, and bring them to Camp Sabros
and to the Philippine Eagle Center.
Hi Mi!
You’re back
Thanks for the info. Namiss kita.
My friends went there last year and they had a total blast. We’re planning to check out OutLand Adventure probably next month. I hope it’s just as fun.
Hi… thanks for dropping by my site. I used my Sony Ericsson K800i for the pictures in Lawton.
Hi Jenn,
You’ve got nice shots using your Sony Ericsson phone. They even looked better than a shot taken using a Digital Camera. Hope you can drop by our site often too.

Hi bry,
I’m sorry, but that’s the only number of Edwin Sacdalan that we have. I’m just not sure if he has changed his contact number already.
Goodluck on your trip.

Hi Chewi!
Sobrang ganda ng view sa Camp Sabros. As in. Very peaceful and very relaxing. Oo naman, talagang lahat kami may bitbit na camera while doing the zipline, sayang naman kung hindi namin macacapture ang magagandang views.
Tats naman ako! Na miss ko din kau! Kung may pera lang…adventure ulit tayo! I’ll be waiting for the Sagada blog. weeeheee!
Re: Sagada, parang matatagalan pa bago ko ma-post ung entry about that. Hahaha! I need to ask help from Donnie or Byangka.
Glad to know you had a great time in Camp Sabros much as I did last year. I’m planning to hit the road going there this year again.
Wow, that’s nice. I also told myself that I’ll definitely go back to Davao again. Keep us posted of your Davao trip too.
siguro bago lang yan? i was in davao a decade ago pero wala pa ganyan. pero ok na rin yung philippine eagle center. is it safe?
I heard Bohol has that zip line, too. It’s new daw and at almost half a kilometer and 200m above ground, it’s the longest and highest in the Phils. I think they call it “Sui-Slide”… yay! sounds like suicide. wahaha… yun tipong maiihi at maje-jebs ka kapag nag-zip ka. hehe.
Supersawsaw: 2007 daw to ni-launch, so medyo bago-bago pa sya. Hehehe! I guess safe naman, kasi maraming locks at may harness naman silang pinoprovide.
RE: Bohol Zipline: Talaga? Bago lang daw? I was in Bohol May of last year, pero wala pang ganun nung nagpunta ako dun. So that’s 500 meters long? Nabalitaan ko may bagong zipline daw yung Camp Sabros which is 800 meters long naman so that means yung nasa Camp Sabros na naman ang may pinakamahabang zipline sa Pinas? Pahabaan na lang sila ng pahabaan ah. Hehehe!
i have yet to try this
dami zip line sa davao, i heard there’s a new one, owned by the dizons, same owner ng davao wild water
will definitely give this a try on my next visit to davao
Hi malensky, yup.
The 800-m zip line is very new, they were testing it when we get there last May. That was a really long and very fast. I suggest when i get there na sana lagyan ng body belt yun seats pabalik dun sa station, nakakatakot kasi baka bigla humangin, walang safety gaurd yun upuan, esp kung meron ka kasama bata.
Davao also have excellerator zip line at shrine hills, this one, makita mo yun metro from above. I am not sure with the the zip line in Samal Island, kasi i think it was placed on hold by the local gov’t on davao del sur. I have heard they will required permit to operate, w/c i think is right thing to do.
rdthedeveloper: Sayang nga eh kasi hindi namin naabutan ung 800m zip line. Tsk! Pano ba yung pabalik ng station? Yung parang cable car pa rin? Medyo nakakatakot nga yun kasi parang may harang na bakal lang yung andun eh no?
I was not able to experience the excellerator zip line. Saan ba yun banda? I haven’t heard of that before. Hahaha!
May bago daw zipline yung Camp Sabros ngayon, 800-meter long naman daw. Hahahaha!
The maverick of Camp Sabros, Mr. Edwin Sacdalan is still using the same mobile number. He has not changed yet. FYI.

Camp Sabros will open Bunjee stuffs soon. Can’t wait to try that
@LAPAC: Thanks for the info. Talaga?!!!! Swear???!!! Uyyy, gusto ko rin yun!!!
just be careful of the locals there. hindi maganda ang experience namin sa may parking lot. we were intimidated. just watch out.
Hi Abigail,
Really? Were you referring to the parking lot sa may base camp? Why? What happened?
